Take Your Professor to Lunch! For Free!

In today's fast-paced academic environment, fostering meaningful relationships between students and professors can be challenging. With large class sizes and limited opportunities for interaction, students often miss out on valuable connections with their instructors. At the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, the Faculty-Student Lunch Program was designed to address this issue by enabling undergraduate students to take their professors to lunch in a relaxed, informal setting. However, the program faced several limitations, such as restricted dining options, insufficient publicity, and budget constraints.

Recognizing these challenges, I developed the Faculty-Student Lunch App to enhance the program and facilitate greater engagement between students and professors. By streamlining the scheduling process, expanding dining options through local sponsorships, and promoting the program more effectively, the app has successfully improved student-faculty interactions on campus.

In this portfolio page, I will discuss the objectives, features, and impact of the Faculty-Student Lunch App, showcasing my skills in problem-solving, product management, and user experience design. The success of this app not only highlights my ability to create innovative solutions but also demonstrates my commitment to fostering a more connected and enriching academic community.
